Extend your blueberry season with Elliott, a top-tier variety that typically fruits in early September, long after other varieties have finished. Elliott produces a bountiful harvest of medium to large berries with a beautiful sky-blue hue, firm texture, and a satisfying pop of juiciness. While slightly more tart than some of the earlier varieties, Elliott is an excellent choice for baked goods. While self-pollinating, we recommend pairing Elliott with a mid-season variety like Duke or Bluecrop, to increase yields and extend your harvest window. Disease resistant and hardy in zones 4 through 8.

Common Blueberry Questions
What type of soil is best for growing blueberries?
Blueberries grow best in slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soils. We suggest mixing in some wood chips from softwood or hardwood trees (but not cedar) into the planting hole and as a mulch.
How much sun exposure do blueberries require?
They thrive in full sun locations but can withstand partial shade.
How should blueberries be pruned?
To ensure optimal harvest we recommend a light winter pruning, removing damaged or crossing branches and thinning out some of the older branches once the bush has gone dormant.
Can blueberries be grown in containers, and what are the best care practices?
Blueberries work well in containers and can easily be kept for several years in a rich bark based potting soil. There is no need to take them indoors, though they would appreciate being set out of the wind during Arctic outflow events.
