This unique variety of Foxglove forms lovely columns of funnel-shaped flowers in an unusual creamy dun color. Flowers are spaced tightly along the stem and, like the more common foxglove, each flower is shaped like a small thimble. The tubular blossoms have proved a pollinator magnet as hummingbirds, bees and other pollinators are attracted to the rich nectar source. I love planting Rusty Foxglove within a meadow setting, as the bold flower stems provide striking contrast among the softness of the ornamental grasses. This foxglove is a short-lived perennial but is relatively good at maintaining itself by producing seedlings.
