Molinia caerulea ‘Poul Peterson’ was selected for its attractive purple flowers and striking golden-bronze fall foliage. It forms a more compact clump with seed heads delicately arching out from the central mound in a rounded shape. Paul Peterson is long-lived and non-invasive, spreading very gradually. I've mixed Molinas in our Meadow planting hoping to accentuate the slight differences between varieties. As Poul Peterson is a compact and shorter variety, I used it near the front of the meadow, mingling it with the Autumn Moorgrass. Poul Peterson is very tolerant of different soils and is hardy to zone 4.
